Our amazing new school opened on Thursday 7th May and it has everything you could possibly imagine. We all love being in our new school and think it is brilliant. It has a big entrance hall and when you turn right you will see Mrs Cameron’s office. We have a fantastic gym hall which means we don’t have to walk down to the village hall anymore. There are even changing rooms and a shower! There are 5 classrooms altogether and in each classroom there is a cool smart board. There are automatic windows and electric blinds. The canteen is big and we have our own trays to collect the food. We are so happy to finally be here in our new school!

The builders have been working really hard for the last two weeks on the ground where the port-a-cabin used to stand. They’ve put a fence up around the new school and have flattened the ground to a usable standard where the old school once was. It will be turned into the playground which at the moment isn’t very big. There are still a lot of diggers on site as well as JCB’s.

On Monday 11th off May the main bit of the old school got knocked down. We were all allowed to go outside and watch the old rotten school get destroyed, it was great fun! We were all so happy to watch it get destroyed, it was so cool. We stayed and watched it for about half an hour and then we had to go back to our class and do work…. BORING!

On the 7th of May 2009 our port-a-cabin got knocked down. All of the school came to watch it. Miss Hill brought a camera and took loads of pictures and let some of the class take pictures too. All of the class loved seeeing it being knocked down. It was amazing to see it getting crushed. There were two diggers destroyng our port-a -cabin. When it fell over we all cheered in delight! Then some of the builders came and took away anything that could be useful. The other classes came to watch too.

The new wind turbine is gigantic and cool. It spins with the wind and goes really fast. Today me, Kate, the rest of the class and Miss Hill, of course, went up the hill behind our school to look at the wind turbine and take some pictures for this blog. It was terribly windy and we nearly got blown off our feet. Me, Kate and the rest of the class all ran to the top but Miss Hill walked up slowly!!! You can see the wind turbine from the road and we think it’s great.

The builders are now putting up decking around the school. It looks ok. A whole lot of power tools can be seen from the playground(mostly drills)

Huge thanks to Katie’s dad for sending in this brilliant photo he took yesterday. Doesn’t it look amazing!
We are all rehearsing for our pantomime and we have to walk up and down to the hall every time we want to try something on the stage. We can’t wait till next year when we will have our own hall and stage in the building!

The school has grown a considerable amount over the October holidays. We were suprised to see how much work had been done in just two and a half weeks. Most of the windows are in now and the roof is nearly covered in copper, the copper piping is going up. The insulation is being put in aswell. The overall structure is finished the crane is not in action. All the builders are working hard. Despite the bad weather over the holidays it is still progressing quickly and smoothly.
