Expansion on new School

October 31, 2008

The school has grown a considerable amount over the October holidays.  We were suprised to see how much work had been done in just two and a half weeks.  Most of the windows are in now and the roof is nearly covered in copper, the copper piping is going up.  The insulation is being put in aswell.  The overall structure is finished the crane is not in action.  All the builders are working hard.  Despite the bad weather over the holidays it is still progressing quickly and smoothly.

After the gales!

October 26, 2008

We have all been on holiday and the weather has been awful this week!  It looks as if the external structure of the building is complete though which is brilliant!  Apparently the copper will start going on the last sections of roof next week and the rest of the windows have arrived too.

Thanks to everyone who has added comments to the blogs!  It is great to hear what you all think.

Rain stops the builders

October 10, 2008

Yesterday the builders started to put up the corridor outside the new classrooms but the rain has stopped the builders from working outside.  Today you can’t hear any of their machines. After today it is the october hoildays and we are off school for two weeks.  We think there will be lots of changes and hopefully, if it doesn’t rain too much, all the walls of our new school will be finished.

The fifth classroom

October 7, 2008

On Thursday the builders put up the fifth classroom, it looks cool.  The builders are working  hard and it is really loud because it is right outside our classroom. The builders are working so hard and fast that the school is nearly finished.  We are so excited that we can’t wait until we can go in it.  It is raining just now so they are working inside but I think that they will still get the job done.

Sun brings out the builders

October 2, 2008

The hard working builders are back on track getting our school built quickly before it starts to rain again. Pretty much all off the classrooms are now finished.  They are putting the roofs on the classrooms.  We are all really excited about getting the new school and can’t believe how enormous our classrooms are.

Classrooms, classrooms and more classrooms!

October 1, 2008

All the classroom walls are nearly up.  The school is very big and things are really getting on.  The builders are working very hard and the crane is very fast at putting the walls up.  The walls of the classrooms are coverd in plastic because it has been raining over the past couple of days and the builders have had to stop. Our playground is still small but soon we will have a nice new one. Everybody is excited even the teachers.

Copper roof

September 29, 2008

The builders have put the copper roof on the new school.  The roof is very shiny when the sun shines on it.  They have a machine that makes the copper the shape of the roof when they put the copper in it.  It is really cool.  They have been working extremely hard and it looks fabulous.

By day and by night!

September 17, 2008

Today the workmen have worked very late using floodlights.  The copper sheets have arrived and some have been laid on the roof.  It looks fantastic!

Loud builders

September 17, 2008

There is so many new parts being put together and lots of hammers are making loud noises. The process is coming on nicely and the builders are working very hard. At  the moment the crane is lifting lots of wood while the builders make sure it goes in place. The classrooms are getting ready to be built.
